Peter Kuhnle – multiple realities

Description

Among other works, works from the series "kaleidoscopes" and "symmetrics" are on display. Through multiplication, reflection, and rearrangement of photographic images from different time levels, complex visual spaces are created in the works, in which the photographic moment is transferred into a new visual simultaneity. Different moments seem to coexist side by side and merge into a single image, although each detail could also stand alone very well. The exhibition invites viewers to question familiar viewing habits and to experience perception anew. Although the series are based on similar formal principles, each develops its own visual language. Repetition, symmetry, and reflection form the common foundation but are used differently. This results in ornamental densifications that appear airy or geometric arrangements that seem to follow no order at first glance.
