Allegro – Presto For its final concert of 2026, the Peace Philharmonic, conducted by Nikolay Khozyainov, will perform Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony, the Egmont and Coriolan Overtures, and Richard Strauss’s beautiful Oboe Concerto, with Varvara Petrova as soloist. Based in Geneva, the city of peace, The Peace Philharmonic Orchestra is an ensemble dedicated to creating a world where music and beauty reign supreme. The musicians, coming from renowned orchestras from Geneva and around the world, join their talents to create an experience of beauty and harmony.
Together – Ukrainians and Russians, Americans, Jews and Arabs – play side by side, creating peace. “Peace activist” – TV5 Monde, France Pianist, composer and conductor, Nikolay Khozyainov is one of the most remarkable musicians of his generation. His poetic musicality and breathtaking technique have captivated audiences around the world. At the age of 7, Nikolay Khozyainov made his debut with the Moscow Philharmonic Orchestra. He went on to perform in Munich and Frankfurt, at 9 at the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées in Paris, at 16 in the United States, and at 17 at the United Nations. Since then, he has been performing on the world’s foremost stages, including Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center in New York, the Kennedy Center in Washington, Wigmore Hall in London, the Louvre and Théâtre des Champs-Élysées in Paris, Tchaikovsky Hall in Moscow, Suntory Hall in Tokyo, the Sydney Opera House, the Tonhalle in Zurich, Palazzo Quirinale in Rome, Auditorio Nacional in Madrid, Victoria Hall in Geneva, the United Nations, and many others. Khozyainov performs with the London Philharmonia Orchestra, La Scala Orchestra, Tokyo Symphony Orchestra, Sydney Symphony Orchestra, Warsaw Philharmonic Orchestra, Czech National Symphony Orchestra, Russian State Symphony Orchestra, Russian Philharmonic Orchestra, the Yomiuri Nippon Symphony Orchestra, and the RTE National Symphony Orchestra of Ireland, among many others. In 2015, Nikolay Khozyainov graduated from the Moscow Conservatory as both pianist and conductor. He studied piano with Mikhail Voskresensky and conducting with Vladimir Bogorad and Gennady Rozhdestvensky.
Khozyainov also holds an advanced diploma from the Hannover Hochschule für Music in Germany under Professor Arie Vardi. In 2012, he won the First Prize at the Dublin International Competition. Khozyainov has been honored by numerous heads of state. In 2022, he was named Knight Commander by the Spanish royal family. He was decorated by Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko of Japan during his concert at Suntory Hall in Tokyo. In 2022, the United Nations commissioned Nikolay Khozyainov to compose a piece for his Concert for Peace. He premiered Petals of Peace at the United Nations Human Rights Hall in November 2022, followed by the U. S. premiere in October 2023 at Herbst Theatre in San Francisco (where the UN Charter was signed). Khozyainov was awarded the Gold Medal of Peace by the United Nations Blue helmets.
Nikolay Khozyainov is the founder, General and Music Director of the Peace Philharmonic Orchestra, based in Geneva.
Khozyainov speaks and gives interviews in eleven languages.

www. nikolaykhozyainov. com Varvara Petrova Varvara Petrova was born in Moscow in 2003 into a family of musicians. She studied at the Central Music School affiliated with the Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory. Having earned both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Orchestral Performance from the Geneva University of Music, she is currently pursuing a Soloist Master’s degree at the same institution. A laureate of more than 70 national and international competitions, she has received prizes at the Concertino Praga (2017, Czech Republic), the Manhattan International Music Competition (2020, USA), and The Muri Competition (2026, Switzerland), among others.
Since 2016, she has been a member of the Russian Youth Symphony Orchestra, where she served as principal oboe from 2018 to 2021.
She regularly performs with orchestras such as the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, the Geneva Chamber Orchestra, and the Oslo Opera and Ballet Orchestra. During the 2026–2027 season, she holds the position of co-principal oboe with the latter under a one-season contract. She has toured extensively in Japan, South Korea, Singapore, China, Germany, Italy, Lithuania, Serbia, North Macedonia, Austria, Hungary, Belgium, the Netherlands, and the Czech Republic.
