by Koji Fukada (JP, FR, SG, PH) Yuri, an architect, has recently divorced. Yoriko, an artist, is haunted by a past love story. A sculptor of life-sized wooden blocks, she takes Yuri as a model, allowing them to spend long hours together, exchanging thoughts on loss and feelings. Meanwhile, two teenagers, friends of Yoriko, develop a bond so strong that they must confront a radical choice.
Suspended in the tranquility of the Japanese countryside, Nagi Notes is both intriguing and contemplative, balancing between a tale of escape and philosophical reflection. Through subtle and precise gestures, masterfully filmed, it examines lives no longer defined by patriarchy. A drama where nostalgia and art intertwine and scrutinize each other, where the elusive mystery of human nature reigns. A tale that resonates softly.
