In a relaxed conversation, writer Marcus Imbsweiler and composer Timo Jouko Herrmann examine a piece of music in detail, tell the story of its creation, provide musical examples, and explain scores. They also clarify some misunderstandings - for example, whether Salieri actually had anything to do with Mozart's death. (He did not.) With great expertise and equal dedication to music, always "con brio," Imbsweiler and Herrmann present works from various genres and eras. Therefore, Musical Sunday is a program of the DAI that features many "premieres"! With Timo Jouko Herrmann and Marcus Imbsweiler, two enthusiasts share their unique linguistic approach to music. Imbsweiler has previously published novels and stories about composers from Haydn to Shostakovich. Herrmann is guest conductor of the Heidelberg Symphony; his rediscovery of the joy song "Per la ricuperata salute di Ofelia," composed by Salieri, Mozart, and Cornetti, made him known worldwide.
