In April 2018, the multi-billionaire and heir of the German Tengelmann Group, Karl-Erivan Haub, disappeared under mysterious circumstances during a ski tour on the small Matterhorn. His body has not been found to this day. Haub's disappearance caused immense media attention. Much less known is that Haub laid off more than 25,000 employees nearly 20 years earlier during radical restructuring measures of the company. One of those laid off was the father of director, author, and actor Dennis Schwabenland, who is based in Bern. The reason for his father's dismissal was that he, as a central buyer at the Mülheim an der Ruhr location, purchased a camping chair 50 pfennigs too expensive. For him and his family, this meant a fall into social assistance. Additionally, the garden chair Piccolo II, the television judge Barbara Salesch, and J. R. Ewing from Dallas appear as unexpected witnesses in Schwabenland's documentary counterattack "Mülheim Absturz Ruhr." They frame two crashes that could hardly be more different—and reveal the mechanisms of power, blame, and social exclusion. Language:
