By weaving three parallel stories, that of the French Sign Language, that of Christian, and that of the creation of the show, Mon Frère aims to be both a political act, an artistic act, and an act of love. François Gremaud gives voice to his brother, deaf from birth, who grew up in a world that speaks loudly but listens little. However, this gesture goes beyond the mere question of deafness. What Christian is playing with is a broader resistance: an art of standing tall in a world that brings you down. His liveliness, humor, thirst for connection and justice resonate far beyond the question of difference.
