Melissa Aldana does not come to please. She comes to clarify something. The Chilean tenor saxophonist sets standards straight: away from perfection, towards music that breathes, swings, asserts itself — and leaves a lasting impression. Raised in Santiago, trained in the USA, GRAMMY-nominated: Aldana works with open forms that celebrate her versatility, allowing melodies to appear and disappear again. Her tone is clear, rough, and sometimes almost meditative in calmness. At the Enjoy Jazz Festival, this attitude unfolds collectively: "I love playing with musicians who are deeply rooted in tradition but are also very open-minded when it comes to music." With Gonzalo Rubalcaba, Peter Washington, and Kush Abadey, she presents her album "Filin" — released in 2026 by "Blue Note Records" — which is the Cuban spelling of "Feeling".
