“Mauvaise Herbe” places us in the midst of a flourishing community garden. First of all, a community garden is a utopia: a place of sharing, meeting, and collaboration. A place where the earth brings people closer together, where everyone cultivates both vegetables and social bonds. But soon reality sets in. The garden becomes a microcosm of the world: disagreements, different life rhythms, methods, and egos mix with good intentions. Among those who visit this garden, a newly arrived couple tries to find a common breath again. And then there is the Old Man, a fixture of the place, who has been alone for a long time and cannot help but give advice and comments. Behind the simple gestures of everyday life, “Mauvaise Herbe” questions our relationship with community, power, and diversity. Everyday conflicts stand alongside gestures of solidarity, revealing the contradictions, fragility, and beauty of human relationships. Over the seasons, the characters learn to free not only their plot but also their own lives from weeds. To be seen on April 3 and 4 at Théâtre du Dé.
