On October 24 and 25, the Théâtre du Dé will present the play "Mère morte." Jeanne goes to the corpse of her mother Marthe, who has just taken her own life. So much denial of suffering... And a love that, instead of protecting the child, has contributed with closed eyes to the continuation of the crime?
There is no escape from Jeanne's pain, which goes so far that she makes her mother the designated culprit, on whom the inexhaustible stream of bitterness concentrates – the impossibility of denied, inverted maternal love. Lucile Bertin's writing style is uncompromising, a powerful art of the real, where revelations, torments, and abysses push to the surface. And then there is another, past time, of confrontation for Jeanne, about fifteen years earlier. Marthe, the mother, reveals that she will be handing over the family home to Louis, the man she loves. An ultimate betrayal, to which Jeanne responds by announcing that the monster will be publicly confronted with what it has done and what it has tried to repeat to its little daughter. For she knows: the uncovered lie will destroy the liar...
