Description

The Franco-German-Polish quartet creates its own style from global music and vocal jazz, demonstrating that handmade, acoustic music can be not only delicate, contemplative, and colorful but also highly energetic and powerful even without drums. The multilingual French singer Marion Lenfant-Preus and the Polish guitarist Alexander "Sobo" Sobocinski have been following the idea for 15 years to create music without labels and for a cross-generational and cross-cultural audience. And they do so with lots of charm, humor, lightness, and joy of playing! Marion & Sobo Band sounds stylistically colorful with songs in French, Spanish, English, German, and Romani, with acrobatic solos on guitar, violin, groovy double bass, scat singing, original compositions, and new interpretations of old swing and Balkan classics, which the band "transforms into the here and now" (Jazzpodium).
