What happens when six international master guitarists come together? A sound body is created that redefines the boundaries of the classical guitar. We kick off the new season of Kultur über den Dächern with a spectacular highlight: The Ensemble Guitarra a Seis brings the power of sound of an entire orchestra to the stage. Thanks to specially developed instruments, the award-winning sextet covers an incredible range of five and a half octaves. The result: large orchestral works are performed absolutely true to the original and without compromise octave transpositions – delicately complemented by captivating percussion. Look forward to an exciting program between Scandinavian romanticism, Italian operatic dynamism, and fiery Spanish passion. In addition to works by Grieg, Kilar, and Rossini's lively overture "L’Italiana in Algeri," two absolute masterpieces are at the center: Georges Bizet's famous "Carmen Suite" and Manuel de Falla's ballet music "El Amor Brujo" – enriched with fiery Flamenco elements inspired by the legend Paco de Lucía.
