Lukas Rietzschel, "one of the most talented storytellers of his generation" (Die literarische Welt), unfolds in his new novel a panorama of German stories from the end of the GDR to the recent present. In the small town of Sanditz, on the edge of the republic, lives the Wenzel family. Rietzschel narrates from multiple perspectives about the family and the residents of Sanditz: from occupying the local Stasi headquarters to the fight of a volunteer in Ukraine, from working on West German construction sites to the isolated island life during the Corona epidemic. Rietzschel makes it possible to experience how the political developments in East Germany were perceived by the people in "Sanditz." In 2018, his debut "Mit der Faust in die Welt schlagen" was published. The book became a bestseller and was adapted into a film. Rietzschel's novels and plays have received numerous awards, including the Saxon Literature Prize and the Literature Prize Text & Language. Recently published: "Raumfahrer" (2021). ANNA KELLER (*1995) expresses herself through written language and film. Since studying Eastern European Cultures and Audiovisual Ethnography in Basel/Tallinn, she has been dedicated to exploring categorization and the unspoken, from alienation to encounters. She is currently working on her first novel. She lives in Basel.
