Description

«The Show must go on» is the golden rule in performing arts. Choreographer Johanna Heusser dares to explore this untouchable credo in her latest dance piece. And so begins a humorous confrontation with things going wrong, losing rhythm, stacking up, missing cues, blackouts, chaos, nonsense, and the attempt to hide, cover up, or make amends for one's mistakes. Contemporary dance is generally seen as a mirror to world events or as an engagement with the zeitgeist. But what if no one in the audience understands the piece? Johanna Heusser cleverly exposes her own genre in «LILA» to make it appear senseless and catastrophic. The three dancers struggle together for the message of the piece – theatrical, funny, absurd, and very entertaining. We present this love letter to contemporary dance and a humorous homage to failure during the Tanzfest. A co-production within the framework of the Reso – Tanznetzwerk Schweiz event fund.
