The man who planted trees takes us to Haute-Provence to meet an extraordinary character: Elzéard Bouffier, a solitary and peaceful shepherd who plants trees, thousands of trees, with stubbornness, to reconcile man and nature. Written in 1953, this ecological fable was, according to Jean Giono, meant to "make people love planting trees." The Epsilon Theatre company brings it to the stage today in a theatrical form focused on the essentials: speech, presence, and imagination, so that fiction activates reality and brings hope. Because the planted trees not only benefit nature, but also allow nearby villages to welcome new families and escape desertification.

The Man Who Planted Trees is a theatrical adaptation of Jean Giono's famous fable, presented by the Epsilon Theatre company.
