Description
Present in our daily lives – from our plates (bread, cheese, beer) to our medicines – fungi also perform essential functions in nature, such as the decomposition of dead organic matter or symbiotic associations, notably with trees. And they are not plants! They do not photosynthesize and are more closely related, evolutionarily speaking, to animals. During this visit, we will explore the visible species in autumn that produce fruiting bodies observable with the naked eye, commonly called mushrooms. You will learn to recognize their morphologies, differentiate species, and understand their vital role in ecosystems. An engaging immersion into a hidden but essential world!
