Les Reines Prochaines (CH) – «Scissorhood»

Description

The current concert program of Les Reines consists of songs, performative numbers, and projections from their in-house video kitchen. The Reines project started in 1987. They have never cared about conventions; everything was permeated with anarchy. "We wanted to express ourselves as women. We didn't want to speak as humans, but as women." That has not changed. The only thing that has changed is perhaps the external perspective: "We are no longer seen as women, but as 'old women'." It is this clarity that guides their artistic direction, a feminist one, a leftist and inclusive one. And somehow, it manages to bridge generations of feminists who have been fighting for the same cause for decades.
