Description

A night in the intimate circle of the residents of a village hosting a ball. A ball like in old times, taking place in the village barn and the highlight of the season. The performance begins with the telling of a Walliser legend. "Justeaucorps" is the first name of a very beautiful and free-spirited girl who stirs jealousy and envy among the villagers. Most of the stories invented by the storyteller Christine Métrailler are inspired by social themes: the celibacy of priests, the pressure to remain youthful, partnerships, youth, and the emergence of romantic feelings. In response to these narrated stories, songs evoke emotions and memories. With Bourvil and his famous "Petit bal perdu," colorful lanterns welcome guests to the ball. Additionally, there is the magnetic voice of Jacques Brel, the fiery voice of Dalida, tango melodies – "La Cumparsita" – the desperate call to women by Patrick Juvet, and a charming slow song whispered by Joe Dassin. Come to the ball and dance if you wish, or not... however you like! A performance to discover on May 8 and 9 as the season concludes at Théâtre du Dé.
