Description

The Federal Art Collection is little known, although the federal government has been collecting art and later also design objects from Switzerland since 1890. Today, it includes over 22,500 works. This largely hidden cultural heritage is made tangible at the Aargau Art Museum. Here, Swiss art from all parts of the country is presented. The exhibition on three floors tells the unique story of this collection – from the interplay of art and state to its significance for today's Switzerland.
