TEN years of forum jazz e. V. (Merzhausen) forum jazz begins the anniversary year 2027 with a guest concert at the St. Lioba Monastery in Freiburg-Günterstal. Michael Kiedaisch: Marimba / Murat Coşkun: Percussion / Arkady Shilkloper: French horn, Flugelhorn, Alphorn Music cannot be confined by borders. On the contrary! Michael Kiedaisch brings his extensive experience in the borders between jazz/new music/world music and free improvisation. Murat Coşkun is a wanderer between the global worlds of rhythms. Arkady Shilkloper has proven as a long-standing member of the Moscow Art Ensemble how modern jazz can be combined with the sounds of the East, which may not be so opposing. An extraordinary ensemble allows the three to produce a variety of rarely heard sounds. The warm, percussive wooden sounds of the marimba, together with the sometimes sonorous, sometimes virtuously shimmering sounds of the frame drums, form a wonderful basis on which the melodic lines of the various horns can be contained.
