On the 100th birthday of Henriette, the family returns to the old holiday home in Havelland. Granddaughter Antonie (history student) senses that her father's death influences everything, and the reunion with the 3 sisters is painful. On a family tree, Antonia comes across Jeanne Beauvais, who lived in Lyon as a silk merchant in the 17th century and was persecuted as a Huguenot.... Deeply touched, Antonia decides to write her master's thesis on women in times of religious persecution. Her research takes her to Geneva and Lyon. There she meets Jules and Elias, and suddenly both women's fates are more intertwined than initially thought. Kick-off for Katharina Fuchs's new sisters series. Katharina Fuchs, born in 1963 in Wiesbaden, spent her childhood by Lake Geneva before moving back to Germany. After studying law in Frankfurt am Main and Paris, she became a lawyer and legal advisor for a DAX-listed company. Katharina Fuchs lives with her family and her Golden Retriever in the Taunus. "Two Handfuls of Life," "New Life," and "Our Precious Life" are based on her own family history. "Vor hundert Sommern" (A Hundred Summers) is her latest novel, following "Lebenssekunden" (Seconds of Life), "Der Traum vom Leben" (The Dream of Life), and "Das Flüstern des Lebens" (The Whispering of Life).
