Description
A contemporary epic that calls upon the passion and energy of youth as forms of struggle, hope, and creation.
Alice, half-Kabyle, half-Normand, recounts her schooling, marked by September 11, the Iraq war, the shock of the French presidential election in 2002, everything that marks her 'Great History of Racism'. As a young adult, at the end of her studies, she reunites with her childhood friend Mad, who has returned from Mali, overwhelmed by a mountain of administrative procedures for temporary residence permits, despite having spent all his youth in France. The only thing Alice can do to help her friend is a sham marriage, as the final point of her adolescence. With seriousness and mischief, Jusque dans nos bras, adapted from Alice Zeniter's novel, makes friendship a tool of resistance against a patriarchal, capitalist, and exclusionary society.
