Description
Jazz from the Black Forest. It is a homecoming when the bassist and singer Loreen Sima, born in the Black Forest and studied in Stuttgart, returns to her homeland. She is the frontwoman of a new jazz generation that draws from tradition and skillfully carries it into the future. With electric bass, synthesizer, and vocals, she plays her own form of funk and fusion jazz as a homage to legendary groups like Herbie Hancock's Headhunters or Weather Report. Her trio with pianist Elias Störr and drummer Heinrich Eißmann is complemented here by two additional vocals and the exciting young trumpeter Jakob Bänsch, who has already been awarded the German Jazz Prize. Another highlight: Stuttgart guitarist Yoshi Tschira, who already thrilled the Enjoy Jazz audience last year with his quartet, introduces his LARGE ensemble.
