Tank Day

Description

The Diessenhofen Arsenal Museum showcases its tanks, as much as possible, in motion or at rest. This unique collection of 21 tanks, all used by the Swiss army and still operational today, traces the history of the "mechanization of the Swiss army," from the tank 39 "Praga" to the tank 87 "Leopard" and the armored howitzer M-109 KAWEST. These tanks are valuable historical witnesses of resistance during the Cold War. Tanks in motion
Various tanks circulate within the Diessenhofen Arsenal Museum grounds. These routes are guided. Close-up tanks to discover
Other tanks are displayed in the hall. Museum members, experts in the field, are available to visitors to provide explanations. Bridge-layer tank demonstrations
In the main square in front of the Diessenhofen Arsenal Museum, the functions of the bridge-layer tank will be demonstrated. All other exhibitions at the Diessenhofen and Schaffhausen museums, as well as the museum restaurant in Diessenhofen, will open from 10:30 am. A shuttle operated by a military vehicle runs between the two sites from 10:30 am. The event in Diessenhofen is musically accompanied by the "Old Iron Stompers." Access
The Diessenhofen Museum is just a 1-minute walk from the St. Katharinental station and is accessible by train in 10 minutes from the Schaffhausen station. A free parking lot is available for visitors. We look forward to your visit! Note: This text was translated by an automatic translation software and not by a human translator.
