Michelle Maddox, born in Cambridge (GB), has established herself as a contemporary painter and draughtswoman through an independent artistic engagement with light, color, and everyday objects. She studied art history at Birkbeck College, University of London, and subsequently completed a master's degree in Fine Art at the University for the Creative Arts in England with distinction. She then completed a postgraduate year at the Royal Drawing School in London as well as a CAS at the Zurich University of the Arts. In her paintings, she weaves impressions from her personal life with mementos from the history of her ancestors. After leaving what is now the Czech Republic, they settled in Diessenhofen and temporarily in Gailingen. Photographs from her mother's early childhood in Diessenhofen, as well as her own memories of summer holidays in the region during her school years, condense into a cross-generational identity. Her paintings enter into a quiet dialogue in the exhibition with works by Carl Roesch (1884–1979) from family ownership. The exhibited works by Michelle Maddox are available for purchase.
