ČESKÉ PODSVĚTÍ S JOSEFEM KLÍMOU Josef Klíma has been one of the most prominent figures in Czech investigative journalism for several decades. He is a co-founder of the weekly magazines Respekt and Reflex, the author of hundreds of television reports and scripts, and a holder of several TýTý awards as well as the Ferdinand Peroutka Journalism Award. He is particularly known for his investigative programs, such as Na vlastní oči, and his own journalistic work. Throughout his career, he has focused on the Czech underworld, organized crime, and corruption cases, and has personally met many well-known mobsters and controversial figures from the 1990s. On Wednesday, September 30, at 6 PM, he will visit the Small Hall of Záložny in Litovel for a discussion titled ČESKÉ PODSVĚTÍ or How I Survived the 90s. During the evening, Josef Klíma will reminisce about the wild 1990s, his encounters with mobsters from Ivan Jonák to Radovan Krejčíř, and how dangerous it was to be an investigative journalist at that time. He will also explain how Czech crime has changed over the last decade. The discussion will include a Q&A session for the audience, which may relate to the popular series Sedm schodů k moci, whose script was loosely inspired by the Nagyová–Nečas case.
