Description
"Hader on Ice" is the first solo program after a 17-year break – and what a one! A Hader program is never just cabaret, but always also acting, and this is great theater, including a Las Vegas stage. In virtuosic exchanges of keywords, it goes from banal contemporary phenomena to serious ones – conspiracy beliefs, fading compassion, poverty, climate – and to being human itself.
"There's always something. Either my feet fall asleep. Or they itch. Then I can't breathe again when I walk faster. Or I have a sweat outbreak. Then I get cold again. The food no longer tastes good, the sex is dull, the pants are too tight. What is this, please? – It must all be this climate change, right? Temperatures in summer are like in the tropics! Because of that, there are suddenly these huge insects! They didn't exist before! When they sting you, you get a bump that doesn't go away for months! They are probably all genetically modified. And the plants! They are getting stupid now too. The plants are crazy! They are all growing over everything now! Since I no longer go out of the house. My theory is that the plants want to regain control over the planet. They are all connected underground through their roots. Worldwide! The plants have a secret plan. They want the total destruction of Western culture and Austrian folk rock'n' roll. That should all be replaced by, uh, photosynthesis."
