Description

“Jalousie des tempêtes” builds on the legacy of opera, a prestigious yet conservative Western art form. On stage, choreographer Emma Saba, together with Jeanne Pâris on vocals and electric bass, reinterprets the original characters, librettos, and conventions, placing them in a new, joyful, queer, and feminist arena. The duo provides a space of revenge for female characters who have historically been mistreated and sacrificed in classical opera repertoire, infused with humor. Between celebration and revolt, this deliberately unconventional reinterpretation celebrates the joy of dancing and singing identities that have been silenced for too long.
