by Ian de la Rosa (ES, DE) Iván is a simple young man with an innate charm, whose trans identity is not an issue. He works on the sorting line in a tomato packaging factory near Almeria, between the arid lands and the sea breezes of southern Spain. There, he develops a romantic relationship with Hadoum, a young Hispanic-Moroccan woman, until economic and family circumstances create obstacles.
In this dry landscape (which served as the backdrop for many American westerns), a queer love relationship blossoms, filled with tenderness, physicality, and an appealing naturalness. Directed by a trans filmmaker and powerfully acted, this is an unabashed and romantic debut fiction, promising a queer future.
