Description

More than two and a half thousand years ago, the Greek poet Homer asked the muse to tell of the man who wandered for so many years far from home: Odysseus. Since then, poets and thinkers have immortalized his story. So did Dante in his "Commedia" and the Cretan writer Nikos Kazantzakis, one of Homer's literary heirs of the 20th century, in his modern "Odyssey." In this tradition – inspired by myths, historical journeys, and inner departures – move also the "Wanderings" undertaken by Tobias Moretti with the ensemble "WOOD SOUNDS." The versatile actor recites on his sonorous expedition both ancient and contemporary odysseys by various authors and joyfully traverses epochs, styles, and sound worlds. Musically, the journey leads from Spain, Italy, and England to the New World, from Muffat and Monteverdi to Purcell and Philip Glass. Artist in Residence The TAK Theater Liechtenstein begins in the 2026/27 season a close collaboration with Tobias Moretti. As "Artist in Residence," he will present selected productions at TAK as well as develop new projects together with TAK. Tobias Moretti has been one of the most important actors in the German-speaking area for decades. His name stands for artistic versatility, acting depth, and outstanding musicality. He has been awarded numerous prizes for his diverse work, including the Bavarian Film Award, the German Film Award, the Austrian Film Award, multiple times the audience award "Romy," the European Culture Prize, and the Austrian Music Theater Prize in the category "Special Cross over Award."
