The singer, bassist, actress, author, and radio host was born in 1950 in Detroit and started her career early in the family band "The Art Quatro Trio." At 14, she played with her sister Patti in the band "The Pleasure Seekers"; with her unmistakable mix of leather outfit, bass playing, and unstoppable energy, she became one of the first women to shape and significantly influence rock music. In 1973, she achieved a worldwide number-one hit with "Can the Can." Followed by other classics like "48 Crash," "Devil Gate Drive," and the US duet "Stumblin' In." To date, she has sold more than 55 million records. Besides her music career, Quatro is also successful as an actress: she appeared in the cult series "Happy Days" and starred at London's West End in "Annie Get Your Gun." Since 1999, she has hosted her own radio shows on BBC Radio 2 and has received numerous awards, including a nomination for the Sony Radio Award. Her versatility is also evident in theater projects, book publications, the documentary "Suzi Q" (2019), and collaborations with artists like KT Tunstall. The new studio album "Freedom" is scheduled for release in 2026.
