The Little Night Music begins as it begins. You lean back. Then a country line intrudes, replaced by a flamenco, and the beat suddenly no longer comes from the bows, but from a table tennis ball on a plate. In between, someone yodels. And Mozart switches directly to Mambo No. 5. This is how the MozART Group works: not classical music with jokes added, but classical music from which jokes arise – because four very good musicians are allowed to play their craft without anyone frowning. Four artists commissioned by Mozart. Founded in 1995, main prize at the Krakow cabaret competition on the first attempt, touring in around 40 countries since then. Because comedy without words works, the audience laughs in Shanghai, Singapore, and San Diego just as much as in Stockholm, Salzburg – or Singen, where the quartet has already been a guest once.
