Hmlisto (SK) - Album Launch of Samoty, M. Puttnerová & M. Novák

Description

HMLISTO: Prague Album Launch of Samoty Hmlisto is a Czech-Slovak family folk duo consisting of singer-songwriter Veronika Kicková and her son Ján. The duo was formed in 2018 and recorded their first official album Na druhom brehu. Their genre straddles modern songwriting with a rich electric guitar sound and folklore-inspired world music. In June 2026, their fourth studio album, titled Samoty, was released by Galén, offering intimate and raw storytelling inspired by thirty years of life in mountain solitude under Vtáčnikom. The songs capture the connection between traditional music from the Western Carpathians and modern elements, electronics, and post-rock electric guitar. After their launches in Slovakia and Moravia, the duo will also present it in Prague. https://www.hmlisto.sk Singer Marie Puttnerová, known for her original ensembles Jablkoň, Půljabkoň, and Zvíře jménem Podzim, along with Martin Novák (Robert Křesťan & Druhá tráva, Lanugo, Blue Shadows, Jaromír Honzák Quintet, Baromantika, David Dorůžka Trio, etc.), have come together to create a musical world composed not only of Puttnerová's original songs but also a space where fragments of set-to-music poetry by the delicate Jan Zahradníček and surrealist Vlastimil Třešňák can resonate. This leads to a shared symbiosis of human voices and electric guitar, which compellingly and urgently push the boundaries of folk.
