Description
We spend about half of our waking time working – for success, for self-fulfillment, or simply for the rent. In his first full-length evening program, comedian and slam poet Gregor Stäheli, inspired by his own career path, takes on all the common absurdities of everyday work life and the cliché questions of a job interview: What are my strengths and weaknesses? Where do I see myself in five years? Or more fundamentally... What am I actually doing here? Sir Arthur Conan Doyle once said: "Work is the best remedy for despair." But is it sometimes not exactly the cause of it? With themes like office monotony, performance pressure, and finding meaning, Gregor Stäheli elevates his years-long balancing act between office and stage and brings the two worlds together – as a stand-up comedy program paired with absurd slam stories. "Out Of Office" takes a step back and looks at our daily work – with one eye laughing and one eye laughing out of despair. Take that, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle! Maybe we shouldn't listen to him anyway. After all, his protagonist is a detective with a miserable work-life balance.
