Cultural Mediation Program 2026 GPHG - Exhibition of the 84 timepieces pre-selected by the Academy "Beyond the Clock" – Works by students from the Chair of Watch Design and the Fashion Design Department of HEAD – Geneva October 30 to November 15 - Museum of Art and History, Geneva (closed on Mondays) Free Activities GUIDED TOURS Guided tours of the exhibition by a watch expert Every day at 12 PM, 2 PM, and 3 PM. Thursdays also at 6:30 PM and 7:30 PM. Saturdays and Sundays also at 4 PM (50 min). Open to the public from 12 years old. WATCHMAKING WORKSHOPS Led by the Geneva School of Watchmaking, these introductory workshops allow participants to immerse themselves in the heart of a watch mechanism by experiencing the watchmaking skills of assembly, anglage, and pivoting. Wednesdays at 2 PM, 3 PM, and 4 PM. Saturdays and Sundays at 11 AM, 1 PM, 2 PM, and 3 PM (60 min). Open to the public from 10 years old. YOUTH WORKSHOPS 1- "Learn to Tell Time", ages 4 to 6 This workshop, supervised by the International Museum of Horology (MIH), introduces young children to reading analog time. They will create a colorful dial. Saturday, October 31 at 3:30 PM, Sunday, November 8, and Saturday, November 14 at 1:30 PM (60 min). 18 spots available. 2- Engraving Workshop, ages 6 to 8 This workshop allows younger participants to step into the shoes of an engraver by chiseling and setting a "case back". They learn engraving techniques under the guidance of facilitators from the International Museum of Horology (MIH). Sunday, November 8 at 3:30 PM and Wednesday, November 11 at 1:30 PM (75 min). 18 spots available. 3- "Dress Your Clock", ages 7 to 12 This workshop allows younger participants to disassemble and reassemble a functional clock under the supervision of facilitators from the International Museum of Horology (MIH). Saturday, October 31 at 1:30 PM, Wednesday, November 11, and Saturday, November 14 at 3:30 PM (75 min). 18 spots available. CONFERENCE "How Geneva and Switzerland Forged the Global Reference for Excellence in Watchmaking?" Pascal Ravessoud, Vice President of the Foundation of Haute Horlogerie (FHH), will explain how Geneva, and then the Jura Arc, forged a tradition of excellence that has become a global reference. Thursday, November 5 at 6 PM (45 min). Open to the public from 15 years old. SCHOOLS (free activities) COMBINED EDUCATIONAL OFFER FOR SCHOOLS "Discovering Watchmaking" Three combined activities for students aged 10 to 16 (8P and Orientation Cycle): - Introduction to Watchmaking Workshop (45 min). This workshop allows participants to immerse themselves in the heart of a watch mechanism by experiencing three watchmaking skills: assembly, anglage, and pivoting. - Workshop on "Gears" (45 min). Using an educational kit with sophisticated gears, and accompanied by scientific mediators, students discover basic concepts (force, speed, lifting, transmission of energy or information, watchmaking). - Guided Tour of the Exhibition of 84 Timepieces (45 minutes). Led by a watch expert, students will discover the excellence of contemporary watchmaking productions pre-selected by the GPHG Academy. - Tuesdays (November 3 and 10), Wednesdays (November 4 and 11), Thursdays (November 5 and 12), and Fridays (October 30, November 6 and 13), 45 minutes per workshop, totaling 180 minutes for the entire school outing (including breaks), maximum 24 students.
