Description
Liechtenstein is today one of the most highly industrialized countries in the world. Its financial center is internationally networked. The number of jobs significantly exceeds the number of inhabitants. It is now hardly imaginable that the country was predominantly rural until the mid-20th century. The economic transformation since World War II has been rapid and profound. The special exhibition traces this extraordinary development. It highlights processes of economic change and focuses on the people who experienced and shaped this structural transformation – in the tension between new beginnings, decisions, and responsibility. Their film-documented memories provide a personal access to economic history and show how economic development arises from life realities, joint creation, and a bit of luck.
