Gottfried von der Goltz, Violin & Conductor Royal Entertainment meets Soli Dei Gloria! Georg Friedrich Händel and Johann Sebastian Bach are often mentioned together as the figureheads of Baroque musical splendor. However, aside from their birth year, they have little in common. While Händel primarily focused on his operas and oratorios for the royal audience in an Italian manner, Bach composed nearly 250 cantatas with contrapuntal complexity for Sunday services throughout the church year. The concert program "Herz & Krone" showcases the unique and different styles of both composers, featuring the young alto Lara Morger, who won the Bach Competition in Leipzig in 2024. The first half of the concert will present Bach's "Vergnügte Ruh, beliebte Seelenlust," an extremely intimate cantata for the 6th Sunday after Trinity. The audience can expect great emotions and breathtaking coloraturas in the second half with arias from Händel's operas Alessandro and Rinaldo. Here, Lara Morger walks in the footsteps of the famous Händel castrati Nicolò Grimaldi and Francesco Bernardi ("Senesino"), who amazed all of Europe with their singing talents.
