Description

THEATERTAGE - Competition A theater revue about the composer Hanns Eisler. The person and composer Hanns Eisler is at the center of this production: contradictory, clever, combative, and full of longing - a small man in a big world. His songs are sung everywhere, but in Hollywood, despite an Oscar nomination, there is no happy ending for him. During the Cold War, his dreams freeze. Eisler's life and work are shaped by cultural upheavals, political struggles, flight and exile, and his own claim to create something useful, in the struggle for an art that can recognize and change people. From a collage of selected songs and surprising scenic elements, video projections, and puppet theater, a portrait of an extraordinary composer emerges. Artistic direction, acting, puppet play, scenography: Sabine Köhler, Heiki Ikkola Arrangements, musical direction, live music: Frieder Zimmermann Video editing and projections: Beate Oxenfart Camera recordings: Eckart Reichl Technical management and lighting design: Josia Werth Stage design: Anett Bauer Direction and dramaturgy: Jörg Lehmann Production graphics: Stefan Voigt Photos: André Wirsig A project in collaboration with the Societaetstheater Dresden.
