Description

Oh, du Fröhliche! Christmas is just around the corner, and opera singer Luitpold Löwenhaupt is carrying a surprise for his family— a live goose! The holiday roast! Until Christmas Eve, the animal is to stay in the cellar. Peterle befriends the goose and even learns its name: Auguste. The child and the goose are already inseparable when the father considers sending Auguste to goose heaven just before Christmas. But he doesn't count on his family's protest. Luitpold devises a cunning plan. But in the end, the goose triumphs, or else this wouldn't be a delightful Christmas story.
