Touring Theater THESPISKARREN The focus of Gün Tank's debut work "The Optimists. Novel of Our Mothers" is on women who, in the 1970s, come from Turkey, Spain, Italy, Greece, Yugoslavia, Morocco, and Tunisia to Germany to work. One of the many guest workers is 22-year-old Nour from Istanbul. She is young, motivated, and optimistic. But she struggles with the customs of the German village where she now lives. Accommodation in the dormitory needs improvement, working conditions in the factory are questionable, and the pay is unfair. When Nour learns about a women's strike in the 1920s, she begins to fight alongside her friends for workers' rights! Under the slogan "One Mark More!" the young women finally want to get out of the so-called light wage group.
