The photo exhibition at Stadtlabor Frauenfeld and Kunstwürfel makes the diversity of the Gemeinschaftsgarten Frauenfeld visible to the general public. The association Offenes Gärtnern in Frauenfeld (OGIF) unites the areas of community garden, SAGEZU, and urban gardens. The educational project Gartenkind is an integral part of the community garden and significantly shapes the work with children and families. In the garden year 2025/26, the projects were photographically accompanied by photographer Francis Dercourt. His shots document gardening work as well as encounters between generations, cultural diversity, and community engagement. Impressive images have been created that capture life in the gardens, the people behind them, and the special atmosphere of the community-used places. These photographs will be publicly presented for the first time in the exhibition from August 29 to September 30, 2026. Francis Dercourt's visual language, mostly in color, partly also in black and white, expresses both the visible diversity of the gardens and the often quiet, connecting moments of togetherness. The exhibition combines artistic photography with information about the individual garden areas and shows how ecological, social, and cultural diversity is lived in Frauenfeld under the annual motto "Everything Beautifully Colorful Here." The annual motto stands not only for the diversity of flowers, vegetables, and nature in the urban space but also for the diversity of people engaged in the community garden. Here, people of different generations, life realities, and cultural backgrounds meet. Both gardening beginners and experienced gardeners can participate, regardless of age, origin, or personal conditions. Besides gardening together, exchange, mutual support, and community events are central parts of the association's life. Members volunteer for more biodiversity, sustainable action, and a lively coexistence in the city of Frauenfeld. The exhibition makes this commitment visible and invites visitors to get to know the people, stories, and values behind the garden projects. The exhibition is accompanied by a vernissage as well as guided tours with a subsequent aperitif. This creates additional meeting spaces and opportunities for exchange on sustainability, biodiversity, integration, and community engagement.
