Description

During a cozy Christmas celebration, young Clara meets the mysterious magician Drosselmeyer, who gives her a Nutcracker figure. When all the guests have left and the house is asleep, Clara sneaks downstairs to find the doll. Instead, she finds Drosselmeyer, who takes her on a journey into a world full of magic: wondrous landscapes, snowdrifts, and sparkling confections. Here, toys come to life and the magic never ends. Peter Wright's production of this Christmas classic for young and old makes Tchaikovsky's astonishing orchestral score shine and adds sparkle and glory to Julia Trevelyan Oman’s historic staging.
