Description

Actually, the NMBE was supposed to open an exhibition on «ExoMars» this fall – an international space project in which researchers from the museum are also involved. «ExoMars» was to launch on September 20, 2022 – with the goal of searching for possible traces of microorganisms on Mars. However, due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the launch had to be postponed. Now the museum has produced a short documentary about the background of the project – and about the ongoing search for extraterrestrial life. In about ten minutes of film, not only is the crisis-plagued mission told, but also, using fossils from the museum collection, it is shown what traces of extraterrestrial microorganisms might look like. The film «Life on Mars» will be shown from September 20, 2022, in the exhibition «5 Stars» in the cinema room «This is not a Mars exhibition» and on our online channels.
