The title of this production provides no clues about the content of this new, full-evening creation by our 'Artist in Residence' Jae-Duk Kim, commissioned by the Lucerne Theatre. More information will follow later. However, the phrase 'Der innere Strom' already conveys essential aspects of what makes the works of this South Korean choreographer and musician so unusual. He himself speaks of a continuous 'Stream of Consciousness'. His movement language, developed from contemporary and traditional Korean dance, is unmistakable. It appears electrically charged when watching, under high tension – especially in the quiet scenes. Like a broad current, the movement may flow calmly and steadily. But beneath the surface, there is turbulence, and energy repeatedly breaks free, exploding in powerful, highly virtuosic dance sequences. An irresistible experience, where the entire ensemble of TanzLuzern reaches its peak.
