The fourth and final part of our Beethoven Cycle for this season features the exceptional violinist Vilde Frang, performing for the first time at the OSR, and Daniele Gatti for an evening dedicated to German Romanticism. Long kept in the shadows before being rediscovered, Schumann's Violin Concerto, his only contribution to the genre, unfolds a writing that is both introspective and passionate. In the second part, Beethoven's Symphony No. 7, dubbed by Wagner as "the apotheosis of dance," takes us into a rhythmically energetic and jubilant vitality.
