The Mosaic Season of the Conservatoire populaire highlights the artistic expertise of its teachers, providing them a stage to share their work as artists, dancers, actors, musicians, performers, and/or composers. This year, the programming of the Mosaic Season invites the public to discover five artistic events focused on diversity, sharing, and creation. From Cuba to European baroque, from contemporary harp to percussion inspired by jazz and groove, to the sound energies of Vertixe Sonora Ensemble, this programming brings together aesthetics, generations, and disciplines. For this first concert of the Mosaic Season, the audience will be invited on a true journey to the heart of Cuba, driven by the music of Leo Brouwer, a major figure in guitar of the 20th and 21st centuries. In a meeting of dance and guitar, teachers and students from the guitar and dance departments will bring the stage to life with Latin American colors. The performers will present the complete set of 20 Simple Studies, as well as Paisajes cubanos con lluvia and con rumba, in a universe where minimalism, serialism, and Cuban folklore intersect, united by a rich rhythmic energy. With the guitar teachers of the Conservatoire populaire and their students, with the participation of students from the pre-professional contemporary dance program, class of Emilio Artessero Quesada. Entrance is pay-what-you-wish. The ticket prices for the performances are flexible. Everyone pays what they like, and all profits are donated to the Support Fund of the Conservatoire populaire.
