Description

Johanna Heusser, a Swiss choreographer who repeatedly immerses herself in the traditions of our homeland and creates imaginative and multifaceted dance pieces from them, along with Maciej Kuźmiński, a Polish choreographer who explores what connects and grounds people through a refined and very dynamic movement language: These two artists will create a new dance evening with TanzLuzern that entertains and at the same time provokes thought. There are many questions and themes that resonate with these two very different dance artists: What is homeland really — just a place, a specific landscape? Or are the people there the ones we feel close to? Can one 'learn' homeland and belonging when moving closer? How can we actively contribute to ensuring no one feels excluded? A region in its entirety offers the chance to unite us, but can also be a source of conflicts. The concept of the ground — literally integrated into one of the pieces through engagement with the Inner Swiss tradition of the 'Bödele' — underpins both new pieces. The ensemble members of TanzLuzern always stand for the realization of high-caliber dance performances.

General Information

The event "Common Ground" takes place at the Matthäuskirche in Lucerne and is aimed at an audience aged 12 and above. The choreographies address the concepts of homeland and community through dynamic dance performances.
