Chrüsimüsi after stories by Adelheid Duvanel In an adaptation by Eléonore Bonah and Maria Clara Castioni. The work of Basel writer and painter Adelheid Duvanel is one of the most important literary rediscoveries of recent years. In her socially critical, miniature-like stories, she describes with great accuracy and empathy the lives or survival of those pushed to the margins of our society. We encounter dreamers, drug addicts, single mothers in precarious conditions, lonely outsiders. Her texts always contain both: gentleness and hardness, humor and despair, wishes and impositions, urban milieu and magical natural states. And above all, there is always the quiet joy of being alive – nonetheless, still. "Perhaps Duvanel's work is a kind of school of forgiveness," says literary scholar Elsbeth Dangel-Pelloquin. The two theater makers, Eléonore Bonah and Maria Clara Castioni, engage with Duvanel's cosmos and will premiere it trilingual. With this work, they conclude their three-year residency at the Comédie de Genève. In cooperation with Bühnen Bern, LAC Lugano, and the Comédie de Genève, they create a space for joyful resistance against the violence of reality. A production by Schauspiel Bern.
