Description

amacord – the outstanding vocal ensemble from Leipzig with the tenor voices of Wolfram Lattke and Robert Pohlers, the bass voices of Daniel Knauft and Holger Krause, as well as the baritone Frank Ozimek. Virtuosic and humorous, the five Leipzig singers bring their fusion of classical vocal art and jazz singing to the stage of Enjoy Jazz. They have arranged the great jazz classics for their A-capella ensemble. Their current release "Maria" (2025), with music by Josquin des Prez, was awarded the International Classical Music Award (ICMA) in 2026. Since October 2023, the ensemble has held a teaching position for ensemble singing at the University of Music and Theatre Leipzig, becoming the first vocal ensemble to do so. In early 2026, the vocal quintet also founded the amarcord Music & Nature Foundation, dedicated to combining music promotion with the protection of natural habitats.
