Description

A three-part course by Volkshochschule Aarau led by archaeologist Dr. Ingmar Braun, focusing on Ice Age art from Northern Spain dating back approximately 40,000 to 10,000 years ago. Participants will learn about the realistic animal depictions, human figures, and symbols found in caves, as well as the techniques used by prehistoric artists, including painting, engraving, relief, and modeling. The course also covers small artworks like carvings on bones, antlers, and stones, and small sculptures of animals and humans, with examples and casts from significant sites in Northern Spain.
