AEGERI CONCERTS 2026: Yulianna Avdeeva, Piano Evening "Soundscapes"

Description

Yuliana Avdeeva is one of the most distinguished pianists of her generation. Winning the First Prize at the International Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw in 2010 – one of the most prestigious awards worldwide – launched her international career. Yulianna initially trained at the renowned Gnessin Music School and later continued her studies at the Zurich University of the Arts, where she received formative artistic impulses. Since then, Yuliana Avdeeva has regularly been a guest with all leading orchestras such as the Berlin Philharmonic, the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, and the London Symphony Orchestra. She collaborates with the most important conductors. A special focus of her repertoire is on the works of Chopin, Schumann, and Prokofiev, but she is also committed to contemporary music. In the 2025/26 season, Juliana Avdeeva is dedicating herself intensively to her latest focus, the 24 Preludes and Fugues, Op. 87 by Dmitri Shostakovich, whose recording was released in 2025 by Pentatone and which she performs worldwide – including in Genoa and as part of special chamber concerts with the Belcea Quartet. In 2026, numerous significant performances are scheduled: a piano evening with the Berlin Philharmonic at the Berlin Philharmonie on June 17, a concert with the WDR Symphony Orchestra at the Dortmund Concert Hall in May, as well as further solo recitals and chamber music projects worldwide. Passionate expressiveness, tonal sensitivity, and uncompromising artistic honesty – qualities that make her interpretations, especially of Chopin and Shostakovich, compelling and unmistakable musical experiences.
